She also told Bustle, "It's also a great alternative to high-intensity workouts, offering many of the same heart-healthy benefits." "Walking... releases endorphins, which are neurochemicals that can relieve pain and reduce emotional stress," explained Vanessa Liu, a certified fitness trainer and nutritionist.
