When it comes to crossing things off your to-do list, proper time management can make all the difference in the world in how you feel at the end of the day. Because let's face it, with only 24 hours in the day, and 6-8 of those set aside for sleep, it can seem like there's not enough time to get everything done. But with the right time management, it can actually be a lot easier than you think.

First things first: those 8 hours of sleep are definitely not a waste of time! Our brains are often under the impression that cutting back on our hours of sleep gives us more time to work on other tasks, but in reality, lack of sleep can cause us to become more distracted throughout the day. So the next time you're worried about meeting a deadline, don't let your bedtime hours pay the price! There are other ways to plan your time properly.

Speaking of planning, the best way to stay on track and make the most use out of your time is to stick to the plan you make for your tasks. The farther away you stray from the plan, the less likely you are to get things done. Creating realistic deadlines for your projects and tasks is also a great way to have a vision for how your day will go. This can also help you prioritize your tasks and determine which of those are more urgent, and which can wait for later. Not only that, but working under the pressure of meeting that deadline can actually motivate you more to stick to your plan and not become distracted along the way.

Another thing to remember: try to avoid multitasking. Although it may seem like working on 3 different things at once means you're being more productive, it's actually making your brain more tired and less productive. Task-switching requires lots of mental energy and effort, and will result in you needing more time per task to finish. Plus, grouping similar tasks together makes it easier to power through them. So, the next time it feels like you're overwhelmed by the number of things you need to do, try to keep these tips in mind!
