Whether you're easing towards adulthood or you've just crossed the threshold, being a full-grown adult can be a highly daunting task. One day your parents are doing everything for you, and the next, it's all on you. Whereas before, your greatest responsibilities were studying and socializing, now you've got to do all that plus cooking, cleaning, and earning money. That's, of course, all on top of maintaining your physical and mental health. Sometimes we're left wondering if it's possible to do it all or if it's just an unachievable, cruel joke by the universe. While we don't have the answers to that, we do have some helpful tips and tricks to make it all a little easier...
It's no secret that the key to a sane mind is sleep. If you want any chance at balancing everything life throws at you, you'll need some good quality sleep in the bank. With the insane intrusion of technology into our lives, falling asleep can prove difficult, and our anxiety levels can peak. Experts recommend avoiding your phone or computer screens for at least an hour before and after sleep. Instead, opt for some morning meditation, journaling, or even reading (not from a kindle!). Focusing on quiet, alone time will leave you calm and help your brain slowly prepare for sleep.
No matter how much sleep you get, the number of daily tasks will still seem overwhelming. How can we prepare food, clean, and stay healthy all at once? An excellent hack to ensure you have well-balanced meals every day is meal prepping. Dedicate one day a week to cooking and preparing food for the whole week ahead. Not only will it eliminate time wasted on dinner decisions, but it will also cut out prep time over the other evenings. To keep your house in order, we recommend cleaning one thing every day and not overwhelming yourself with one big cleaning day. By the weekend, it will all be done!

An important thing to remember is that you don't have to 'adult' alone. Yes, there are many more tasks on your plate than ever before, but you should never be afraid to reach out to a friend, family member, or neighbor for assistance. Whether it's emotional support you need or even parking assistance, you're sure to find people who are willing and happy to help. When it comes to conquering life, it's all about strength in numbers!
