We might be used to watching her dance to Doja Cat or Megan Thee Stallion, but we've got a feeling that's all about to change. On Friday, March 19, the TikTok star dropped her first-ever single, Obsessed. And safe to say, we're already obsessed. But why don't you have a listen for yourself?

"I'm obsessed with me as much as you... say you'd die for me I'd die for me too," Rae sings on the track. But it's not what it sounds like. In fact, if you ask Addison? There's a more deep-rooted meaning behind the seemingly obvious lyrics.
"One could take it as being vainly obsessed with yourself, but that's not what I'm trying to communicate," the artist explained to Vogue. As she put it, "It's more I can love myself as much as you love me, and that's important."
Not only has Rae been vocal about her song's uplifting message, but she's actually been a part of the journey every step of the way. "From the beginning, I wanted to make sure that I was writing my own music," Addison revealed. "[Now] I'm learning every detail and from amazing songwriters."
Of course, though, like many of us, "there are days where I struggle... to accept who I am and give myself the love I deserve," Rae confessed. "But that message was so strong... I wanted to communicate it [in the lyrics]."
Safe to say, we're certainly here for her self-love anthem. As for what the future has in store? Might Addison Rae's future call for headlining sold-out arenas? We guess only time will tell.
