TikTok star Addison Rae has announced she'll be making her acting debut, starring in Miramax's remake of She's All That. The modern version, He's All That, will have a similar plot to the original, but focus on a teenage girl who's a social media influencer.
The original movie, filmed in 1999, revolved around a high school jock who turned a "nerdy girl" into a beautiful prom queen after a tough breakup. Addison will be playing a popular influencer who's determined to turn a not-so-popular boy into a handsome prom king after her boyfriend made her the butt of a school-wide joke.
"This reboot is a welcomed step towards a new generation of Miramax storytelling," explained Bill Block, CEO of Miramax. "Part of our greater strategy to leverage our existing library with fresh, -re-imagined content in both film and TV."
Mark Waters, director of Mean Girls and Freaky Friday, will be directing He's All That and has been working towards the reboot for years. In addition to putting a 21st-century spin on the 1999 film plot, it's also a modern take on the 1964 classic, My Fair Lady.
R. Lee Fleming, who wrote She's All That, is also writing the script for the upcoming production, along with some of the original producers. The rest of the cast has yet to be announced, but we're thrilled to watch this TikTok Queen take on the big screen. After her appearance in Kardashian's new SKIMS campaign, this TikTok star is on fire!
Being the second-most followed person on TikTok, Addison is already bringing a lot of traction to He's All That. We can't wait to see her take on this role and help create this new storytelling generation.
