The 2021 MTV Video Music Awards are coming up on September 12 and with the host officially announced, we've got plenty to look forward to. This year's award show will be led by the one-and-only singer and TikTok songs goddess, Doja Cat. Here's everything we know so far.

The Say So singer will make her way to New York City to host the MTV gig. But that's not all that awaits Doja in the Big Apple: she's also nominated for a whopping five awards that night. The performer could end up taking home Video of the Year and Best Collaboration for Kiss Me More featuring SZA.

Plus, Cat is up for Best Art Direction for the hit song Best Friend with Saweetie, Best Visual Effects for You Right with the Weeknd, and - arguably most impressive - the Video Music Awards' Artist of the Year Award. There's clearly no stopping this Grammy-winning gal.

But Doja's got some tough competition come September 12. The pop star is up against the likes of Ariana Grande, Megan Thee Stallion, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and Justin Bieber. But regardless of who takes home the famous Moon Person trophy, it's sure to be a night to remember.

Why? Well, for once, we'll be blessed with a live performance by Doja. That's right - even before being announced as the night's host, the singer was set to perform at the MTV VMAs. As for what exactly she'll grace our screens with, we don't know.

But whether it's Kiss Me More, which was ranked in Spotify's top five songs of the summer, or Boss B***h, we're sure we've got plenty to look forward to.
