It's Official: Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart Have Called it Quits

Sorry guys, but we've got some not-so-pleasant news for all of you Jughead and Betty fans. If you're like us, you've been keeping up with the Riverdale couple ever since they first took their on-screen romance, well, off-screen. I'd go grab the Kleenex if I were you, because it looks like their love story has come to an end...
As you already know, the couple's been together for nearly four years now - with, of course, many break-ups in between. But on Wednesday, August 19th, Sprouse took to the 'gram to give us a much-needed update on their confusing status. What did he say?
"What an incredible experience I had," the actor revealed of their breakup. "I’ll always feel lucky and cherish that I had the chance to fall in love." He also revealed when exactly their romance went south.
"Lili and I initially separated in January of this year, deciding to more permanently split in March," Sprouse continued. That's right, the two lovebirds are officially done. I'll give you a second to let that sink in.
As for where they stand today? "I wish her nothing but the utmost love and happiness moving forward," he explained. "All I’ll say about it, anything else you hear doesn’t matter."
There you have it, guys. Sorry to have been the bearer of bad news, but someone had to tell you. But while we might be cringing right now, we can't help but pity the awkwardness that's bound to come, when the exes have to work together come Season 5.
Could Jughead and Betty, too, be heading for trouble in paradise? I guess we'll have to wait to find out. Until then, stay tuned.
