| LAST UPDATE 11/24/2021
The 64th Grammy Award's Show will soon take place at the Microsoft Theater, and the Recording Company has officially released the list of nominees for all 86 categories. Here's who has a chance at winning during one of the biggest nights in entertainment!
To qualify for the possibility of snatching the award, the songs needed to be dropped between September 1, 2020, and September 30, 2021. One artist that has dominated the list is R&B artist H.E.R. She's racked up eight nominations, two of them being the top categories, Album and Song of the Year. The singer has had a busy and successful year. As did Justin Bieber, whos been winning awards since 2015. The pop star is tied with H.E.R, racking up eight nominations. The teen heartthrob just keeps making hit records!
Another artist that made headlines in 2021 was Doja Cat, who was also selected in a whopping eight categories, three of which are the top four. The singer is up for Album of the Year, along with Song and Record for Kiss Me More featuring SZA.
Following Doja Cat, with six potential awards, are Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo. Both popular artists have their breakup songs, Drivers License and Happier Than Ever, up for Song and Record of the Year. Their albums Sour and Happier than Ever have also been picked. And because of her beyond successful debut album, Rodrigo has a high chance of winning the Best New Artist category. She's the only artist this year who has hit all four of the top categories. Guess it paid off to be heartbroken!
Many stars have been granted the opportunity to earn a Grammy Award. In the past, only eight artists were picked for the "big four" categories - Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best New Artist. But more individuals have gotten recognized for their talents this year. So "to embrace the spirit of inclusion," the academy chief executive, Harvey Mason Jr, and his team have decided to allow ten nominees to be chosen.
We can not wait to watch the ceremony and see who takes home the infamous award. The show will be held on January 31, 2022, so mark your calendars.
